Sigiriya

Sigiriya is located in the central province of Sri Lanka.It is an ancient rock forest in Sri Lanka.It is today UNESCO listed world heritage side.It is also considered as eighth wonder of the world.

Sigiriya consists of an ancient castle built by King Kashyapa. The upper place sited on the flat top of the rock.mid-level that includes the lion Gate and the mirror wall with its frescoes. The lower place that to the slopes below the rock,the moats,walls,and gardens that extend for some hundred of metres out from the base of the rock.        


 

Frescoes of Sigiriya 

The Frescoes belong 5th century.There were about two hundred and fifty Frescoes of the sigiriya. 


The Gardens of the Sigiriya city are one of the most important aspects of the site.as it is among the oldest landscaped gardens in the world.The gardens are divided into three distinct but linked forms,Water gardens,cave and boulder gardens,terraced garden.
