God Ganesh

God Ganesh  Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated festivals of Hindu religion which holds very much importance in the life of Hindus. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in the joy of the birth of the son of Parvati Lord Sri Ganesha. There are many names given to Lord Sri Ganesha, few people call him Ganapathi , few call him Gajanan, and few people call him Vinayagan. People believe that Lord Sri Ganesha takes away all our pains and gives us happiness.  Ganesh Chaturthi is not a one-day celebrating festival instead its celebration goes on for eleven days consecutively. It is initiated on the first day that is on Chaturthi by bringing or welcoming a beautifully decorated statue of Lord Sri Ganesha and it ends on the eleventh day that is on Anant Chaturdashi.  We all know that Lord Sri Ganesha is one of the most worshiped gods of the Hindu religion. Parrots My favorite  bird is the parrot. It is a colourful bird that is present in many parts of the world. It comes in many shapes, sizes and colours. Parrots are famous for having vivid colours. Some have a single, bright colour while others have a rainbow of different colours. Parrots are usually small and medium in size that mostly eats seeds, nuts and fruits. The lifespan of a parrot depends on its species. Larger ones like cockatoos and macaws live for 80 years while the smaller ones like lovebirds live for around 15 years. In fact, parrots are quite intelligent. They have the ability to imitate human speech which is why many people keep them as pets. Consequently, they are also the most sought-after type of bird for commercial purposes. All over the world, people are taking measures to ensure parrots get nice treatment. Many cultures also consider them sacred. Parrots are highly intelligent and thrive at their best when they are free and not captured in cages.

Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi   Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a Sacred  tree in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.It is said to be a sapling from the historical Bodhi tree under which Buddha became enlightened.  It was planted in 288 BC and is said to be the southern branch of the Sri Maha Bodhi Bodhgaya India, also the oldest living human-planted tree in the world with a known planting date. The sacred tree brought by the  Sangamitta, the sister of Arahath Mahinda who introduced Buddha's teachings into Sri Lanka.   The sacred bodhi tree is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world, for it has been tended by an uninterrupted succession of guardians for over 2000 years, even during the periods of Indian occupation. The Uda Maluwa, 35 feet by 55 feet, is 35 feet above the ground. The wall was constructed during the reign of King Kirthi Sri Rajasingha, to protect it from wild elephants. I think all  Lankan Buddhist peoples of State usually have sought the blessings...

Baratha Natyam Baratha natyam is a most traditional dance of Indian cultural.It is one of the oldest and most popular of Indian classical dance.It was originated in states of Tamil Nadu,South India.It is one of the most widely practiced classical dance.It is crated by Barathamuni. It was also called as the 5th Veda. Baratha Natyam is revitalized and redefined contributed of four talented brothers in the first quarter of the nineteenth century."The four famous brothers are Chinnaiya, Ponnaiya, Vadiwelu and Shiwanadan."Managed to organized all the Basic Baratha Natyam movements. In its beginning Baratha Natyam was performed as dasiattam, by temple devadasis. The dancers knew the Sanskrit and other languages very well,as they had to compose their songs in Sanskrit so that all the audiences could understated their dances and songs. Traditional Mask in Sri Lanka.

 Mask Art in Sri Lanka Sri Lanka, we mainly use masks for mask dances, while hanging masks in the household to cast off the evil eye is also quite popular. There are three types of mask dances: Kolam , Raksha  and Sanni .  people use the Kolam masks for storytelling dances while the Raksha masks are used to ward off evil or as an aid in festivals. The Sanni masks are mainly used in healing ceremonies and worn by an Edura .There are eighteen different Sanni masks, each specializing in curing specific illnesses. The traditional Sri Lankan mask is hand carved by an edura,  out of local wood and polished using  plant leaves. Next it is painted with natural organic and mineral based . Usually, white color comes from clay, green from leaves, blue from fruits, yellow from yellow pepper, black from charred cotton and red from red bricks or clay.  A sealant comprising of beeswax is then applied to protect the colors before the artisan makes the final touch ups. My Favorite Childhood Memory. My first train journey in my childhood ever was a kandy. I think I was about five years old.We were traveling from kotuwa station by Kandy. It being my first train journey, I was filled with curiosity and excitement. I went the window seat and kept looking out most of the time. The sights fascinated me.   The trees, the hills, the fields - everything seemed to be rushing past me, and disappearing equally fast. When another train would pass by, our train seemed to stand still for a while, and would even seem to go backwards! All these things baffled me. It had rained that morning, and water drops were still dripping from the leaves of trees. The fields and the hills were covered in carpets of green. Suddenly we were plunged into darkness. Thankfully, the lights in the compartment were on Father explained that our train was passing through a tunnel. This was a new experience for me, and I was thrilled.  We passed through more than twenty such tunnel...
